January 27, 2025 – East Hartford, CT – The Yankee Security Convention is pleased to announce that Michael Kachmar, owner of Middlebury Lock LLC in Middlebury, Vermont, has joined its Board of Directors for 2025.
Kachmar brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the board, along with a strong background in both mechanics and the locksmithing industry.
Kachmar purchased Middlebury Lock LLC in 2018. As the company’s owner and operator, Kachmar manages all aspects of the locksmithing services offered, from residential and commercial lock repairs to automotive keys and safe work.
Prior to his career in locksmithing, Kachmar worked for 22 years as a mechanic in the lawn and garden department at a John Deere dealership, where he honed his diagnostic and mechanical skills, which he now applies to the locksmithing trade.
After seeking a career change, Kachmar discovered an opportunity to purchase a locksmith business and saw the potential for his technical background to make a strong impact in the security field. He completed his training through Ashworth College’s Locksmith Program and earned his ALOA Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL) certification. Kachmar is also the current president of the Green Mountain Locksmiths Association and a member of the Safe and Vault Technicians Association (SAVTA).
Kachmar’s involvement with the Yankee Security Convention began in 2018 as an attendee, and his commitment to the industry and its educational initiatives has now led him to join the Board of Directors.
“I am excited to be a part of the Yankee Security Convention’s Board of Directors and look forward to helping the team in any way I can,” said Kachmar. “This industry has so much to offer, and I’m passionate about seeing it grow and evolve. There’s always something new to learn or a problem to solve, and I’m eager to help educate others and further the work of the convention.”
